Research and Application of Image Registration Based on Singular Value Decomposition

Image registration has a wide range of applications in pattern recognition, medical image analysis, image mosaic and other image processing, which is a very important technology in the field of image processing. Aiming at the shortcomings of traditional image registration algorithms in terms of matching accuracy and speed, a fast image registration algorithm based on singular value decomposition (SVD) is proposed by combining point set matching with variable template hierarchical search. Experimental results show that the improved algorithm has obvious advantages in image registration speed compared with the traditional algorithm.
