A Novel Hybrid ARPS Motion Estimation Algorithm for Video Coding in VLSI Architecture
M. Sunitha Rani, G. Mary Valantina · 2020
This paper presents efficient VLSI Motion Estimating Architecture (ME) using Hybrid Adaptive Rood Pattern Search (HARPS) technique. Block-based motion estimation plays a significant role in video codes by exploiting and reducing the temporal redundancies that exist between successive outlines in a video series. Adaptive Rood Pattern Search (ARPS) is individual of the large amount accepted fast movement estimation algorithms that involves reasonably limited hardware resource without compromising the real-time speed for transmitting HD videos. The proposed design exploits only spatial correlation. Further, HARPS (Hybrid Adaptive Rood Pattern Search) will be designed by placing PASTA (parallel self timed adder) in ARP module. Main aim of this paper is to design and analyze ARP's motion estimation algorithm and a Hybrid ARPS (HARPS) algorithm by comparing the parameters Delay and Area.
