Analysis of Grating Spectrum by Using MUSIC for Sub-arrays

MUSIC is one of subspace-based DOA algorithms, which has been applied at element level effectively. However, the practical applications always divide a large array into sub-arrays. If MUSIC is implemented in a practical system, only sub-array outputs are used to estimate the spatial spectrum. There is a great practicality in researching how MUSIC algorithm is used to sub-arrays. The performance of MUSIC is closely related to the sub-array formation. In this paper, the grating spectrum by applying MUSIC for different sub-arrays is analyzed in detail. The instructions by using MUSIC with grating spectrum are summarized, and the conclusion is verified by the practical measured data.
