Radar Specific Emitter Identification Using Carrier Frequency Feature

Radar Specific Emitter Identification (SEI) technology extracts individual features from received pulses to distinguish radar emitters of the same kind. In this paper, we first analyze the mechanism of carrier frequency feature caused by radar transmitters, realizing that the carrier frequency offset is unavoidable and unique to individual emitters. Then a carrier frequency feature extraction algorithm for the single-tone frequency signals and chirp signals is proposed and used to characterize the real Emitter pulses. Experimental results show that the proposed methodology is efficient for carrier frequency feature extraction and can be used to distinguish radar emitters.
