Pretrained Deep Neural Networks for Age Prediction from Iris Biometrics

This chapter discusses a novel approach for age-group prediction from existing iris biometric systems. Experimentations were conducted on a real-time database with deep convolution neural network and two pretrained networks: AlexNet and GoogLeNet. Images in the real-time database were acquired with a scanner from Cross-Match Technologies known “I Scan 2.” Our proposed approach with AlexNet deep neural network achieved good performance for identifying the person’s age group from iris biometrics.
