Amit Kumar Sharma, Vijay Nandal · Journal of Emerging Technologies and Innovative Research · 2020

The Internet of Things is termed as the next generation of the internet in which the physical devices equipped with some electronic components by which they can transfer the data or information between each other. The IoT system uses various types of messaging protocols for the transmission of data. The CoAP and the MQTT are the two of these protocols which are widely used in the IoT system. This paper presents a comparison between these two CoAP and MQTT protocols which was based on some parameters. This comparison is shown by studying the various conclusions of the experiments and research by the researchers. This can help the various designers to select the most appropriate protocol for the messaging in an IoT system.
