Tracking Controller Design for Petri Nets with Inputs and Outputs

Raphael Fritz, Ping Zhang · 2020

In this paper, an approach for the tracking controller design of signal interpreted Petri nets (SIPN) is proposed. The goal is to find a controller that forces the plant to fulfill the desired specification. The control problem is reformulated into a tracking control problem for Petri nets. A tracking control approach based on Monte-Carlo Tree Search (MCTS) is proposed that finds a firing sequence by random sampling of the search space. Based on the firing sequence, a controller SIPN can be derived that fulfills the desired specification. The proposed approach can handle partially specified markings and multiple destination markings.
