Wonsul Choi · 2020

The purpose of this study is to verify the validity and reliability of ASLQ that is self-leadership measurement tool developed by Houghton, Dawley, & DiLiello(2012), for the team members in Korea. The population of the study were the team members of large enterprise manufacturing and data was derived from 520 participants. To verify the validity and reliability of ASLQ, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, discriminant validity analysis, split-half reliability, Cronbach s α, and reliability generalization were conducted. It was proved that the three-factor structure of ASLQ is valid. And Criterion-related validity was verified by examining the relationship between ASLQ and job performance. The three components of ASLQ that behavior awareness and volition, task motivation, and constructive cognition are showed a positive relationship with job performance. In other words, it was proved that ASLQ is a explanatory variable of job performance. In conclusion, this study proved that ASLQ is valid and highly reliable for the team members of large enterprise manufacturing in Korea. Through this, it was proved that ASLQ can be used as a tool for measuring self-leadership in Korean companies. Because RSLQ had 35 questions, it was difficult to measure self-leadership with other variables that have a large number of questions. However, this study made it possible to study between ASLQ and other variables with a large number of questions. And based on the results of this study, academic and policy implications are suggested.
