DSSS Signals Multi-Criteria Synthesis for Cognitive Radio Systems Adaptation to Complex Interference

Alexander A. Lisnichuk · 2020

Direct-sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) radio signals under action additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) realize a relatively high noise immunity; however, in conditions of a complex, dynamically changing interference environment, the signals with fixed parameters is not provided the required characteristics. The aim is development of multi-criteria synthesis procedure of DSSS signals for cognitive radio systems adaptation to complex interference situation. The author has shown that it is expedient to minimize the complex interference effect by multi-criteria synthesis of both a set of elementary pulses and an ensemble of spreading code sequences. This makes it possible to increase interference immunity up to 10 dB (in comparison with QPSK-signal with spreading of the complemented M-sequences ensemble) in complex signal-interference environment while maintaining bit error rate at QPSK-signal level for only AWGN action.
