SIFT BASED QLRBP LOCAL DESCRIPTOR FOR COLOR IMAGES

Image descriptor is an active research topic in the fields of image processing, computer vision, and pattern recognition. In the area of image processing, many descriptors for color images have been developed. Main types are Global descriptor, which consider the entire image at a time, and Local descriptor, which describes only small part within an image such as patch. Whole color characteristics along with structural properties are not considered yet. Quaternionic representation is used incase to include the color characteristics. Structural properties of an image can be included using the SIFT descriptor. Color image descriptors can be used in applications such as person reidentification, face recognition etc.
