Multichannel Speech Dereverberation using Generalized Sidelobe Canceller and Post Filter

Speech signal captured by distant microphones in room includes reverberation as well as noise. It worsens the received signal quality. Therefore to recover the original signal, it is necessary to eliminate reverberation and noise. By dereverberation technique reverberation can be removed and target speech signal can be recovered from received reverberant signal. In this paper reverberation as well as noise is removed by incorporating Generalized Sidelobe Canceller (GSC) along with post filter implemented using Wiener filter. It is experimentally verified that, the intended approach improves speech quality in reverberant, noisy environment for variations in reverberation time, signal to noise ratio (SNR) and distance between source to microphone array.
