Navigation using FPGA based SOC Architecture for the Visually Impaired

Anudeep Deekonda · International Journal for Research in Applied Science and Engineering Technology · 2020

The estimated number of people visually impaired in the world is 285 million, 39 million blind and 246 million having low vision; 65% of people visually impaired and 82% of all blind are 50 years and older [1]. Technological advancements have helped the visually impaired overcome the difficulties they face in their surroundings. In this paper the proposed system is designed to help navigate the visually impaired with the help of FPGA and SOC which will be embedded in a stick. The implementation of the system will be done with the help of Ultrasonic sensors, GPS, Microphone, Speaker, Vibration motor and will be designed with FPGA in SoC architecture.
