Interactive Visualization of Large 3D Line Sets
Mathias Kanzler · 2020
The visualization of dense 3D line fields is challenging due to clutter and occlusions. Hence, based on a line hierarchy, which is generated by a graph-based perfect matching algorithm, this thesis shows approaches to dynamically generate visualizations from the given line sets to illustrate the relationship of flow trends and relevant flow features. Due to a novel ray casting approach, large semi-opaque line sets can be rendered interactively in combination with global illumination effects.
