Wireless Sensor Network(WSN) consists of huge number of sensor nodes which has the capability of sensing physical phenomenon around them. This sensed data is transmitted in the network, which may get altered maliciously by an attacker. So security is the major concern to safely preserve this data. To do so, various cryptographic keys are used and these keys should be managed and maintained properly with optimum resources. These operations are regulated by Key Management Schemes (KMS). This paper discusses about various KMS classifications and surveys recent KMS which are applicable for cluster based WSN. The detailed discussions and comparison projected by this survey will be useful to proceed further in this research direction.
