Objective To explore the effect of Omaha system nursing mode for elderly patients with knee osteoarthritis. Methods 180 patients with mild, moderate, or severe knee osteoarthritis treated at our hospital from January, 2015 to January, 2018 were selected. All the patients were given oral medication, intra-articular injection of triamcinolone acetonide, hot compresses and oral medications for Chinese medicine, knee rehabilitation exercises, and acupressure massages. After the treatment, the standardized Omaha intervention mode was used to perform rehabilitation intervention nursing, and the recovery results were observed. Results In the mild, moderate, and severe patients, the pain scores were (0.33±0.17), (0.99±0.52), and (2.14±0.29) after the treatment, and were (1.55±0.32), (2.26±0.25), and (2.95±0.20) before the treatment, with statistical differences (all P<0.05). In the mild, moderate, and severe patients, the knee function efficacy indexes were (92.33±3.21), (80.16±3.54), and (61.42 ±2.65) after the treatment, and were (61.25±2.86), (46.57±4.13), and (30.09±2.62)before the treatment, with statistical differences (all P<0.05). After rehabilitation by Omaha nursing mode, the patients’ average total score of cognition, behavior, and status was (195.7±4.3), which was higher than that before the treatment and nursing [(143.2±4.1)], with a statistical difference (P<0.05). Conclusion In the case of individualized treatment, systematic and standardized joint function rehabilitation nursing using Omaha nursing mode is an effective treatment and nursing method.
