Objective To study the effect of quality nursing measures on physiological index and quality of nursing of 120 patients with respiratory failure. Methods A total of 120 patients with respiratory failure from March 2014 to March 2015 in our hospital were selected as the research objects. The control group was treated with routine nursing measures, and the observation group was treated with quality care. Then pulmonary function index, blood gas index, anxiety, comfort, incidence of adverse events, vital signs, therapeutic effect were observed. Results After nursing, FVC, FEV1 and PEF of the observation group were significantly better than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). PaO2 was significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). PaCO2 was significantly lower than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). The incidence of anxiety, comfort and adverse events was significantly higher than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Heart rate and respiratory rate was statistically lower than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusions The application of quality nursing measures to patients with respiratory failure can regulate their lung function, improve their physiological indexes, and improve the therapeutic effect and nursing quality. Key words: Respiratory failure; Quality nursing measures; Physiological index; Nursing quality
