The influence of emotional nursing intervention on stress response and sleep quality in elderly patients of fracture surgery

Objective To explore the effect of emotional nursing intervention on stress response and sleep quality in elderly patients with fracture surgery, and provide reference for nursing intervention in elderly patients with fracture surgery. Methods From June 2015 to May 2016, a total of 106 cases of patients with senile fracture surgery were selected as the research objects.The patients were divided into observation group and the control group, 53 cases of each group.The control group was given the routine nursing intervention for the patients with fracture surgery.The observation group combined with the emotional care intervention.Psychological stress, physiological stress and sleep quality were compared between the two groups. Results The scores of anxiety (SAS) and depression (SDS) in the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05, P<0.01). The contents of serum cortisol (Cor), epinephrine (E) and norepinephrine (NE) were significantly lower than those of the control group(P<0.05). The scores of body weight, sleep time, sleep time, sleep efficiency and daytime function were significantly lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusions Emotional nursing intervention can alleviate psychological stress and physiological stress level and improve sleep quality in elderly patients of fracture surgery.
