Nowadays, there are many documents involved in cross-border trade transactions. A multitude of documents have to be inter-exchanged between two main categories of actors: businesses(B) and government authorities(G). However, one of the important problems is how to effectively control access to documents and securely share documents in the scenario of national G2G and certain B2G border procedures. In order to achieve fine-grained access control and secure sharing in crossborder trade transaction electronic platform, we present an attribute-based encryption(ABE) approach for trade document access and sharing using blockchain technology in this paper. In this approach, a user’s private-key is associated with a set of attributes, a document ciphertext with an access policy over a defined universe of attributes stores to the Interplanetary File System (IPFS), and then the simple hash of IPFS files is kept on the blockchain. Through using smart contract in blockchain technology, the proposed mechanism of data access control and sharing can ensure the access control information is tamper-resistant, auditability and verifiability.
