The detection of Hardware Trojan (HT) in large systems like chip multiprocessors (CMPs) turns out to be extremely difficult. The HT in CMPs degrades integrity and confidentiality of secret data. This work explores the effect of trojan attack on write data in memory access stage of the instruction pipeline of CMPs. The implanted trojan forces a data path to stuck to a faulty logical value, resulting violation of data integrity. The effect of plantation of trojan in the original design, on various architectural parameters is then examined. It reveals that the detection of such HT in CMPs instruction pipeline is unattainable.
