In this paper, we study Minimum-Latency Collection Scheduling (MLCS) problem in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) whose objective is to obtain collision-free data collection schedules with minimum latency. Unlike most existing works that explored the problem with the uniform power model in omnidirectional WSNs, we study the problem with non-uniform power model in directional WSNs. In this study, power control of sensor nodes is also considered. We propose an algorithm, named Hierarchical Streaming Collection Scheduling (HSCS) algorithm, that produces collision-free data collection schedules where appropriate power levels are assigned, and validate its performance in terms of latency for simulate networks.
