Conception of Speaker Recognition Methods: A Review

In the last decade, the speaker recognition systems know a wide interest from many researchers of speech and speaker recognition technologies that led this technology to become a practical identity authentication means. This paper reviews the speaker recognition systems evolution from the first implementation to current trends. In this paper, we present a brief overview of the speaker recognition area by describing its modeling methodologies and different feature extraction techniques with several languages. Then, we will display some speaker recognition strengths and weaknesses and performance indications. Finally, we will classify different research on Arabic and Amazigh speaker identification with various extraction methods and modeling approaches that can potentially be investigated for future works.
