P152 THE STABLE DOWNARD CONTINUATION OF POTENTIAL FIELD DATA Abstract 1 It is often necessary to compare aeromagnetic datasets that have been collected at different altitudes (such as ground and airborne magnetic surveys). The upward continuation filter takes a potential field dataset and produces from it the data which would have been measured had the survey been performed at a greater altitude than was actually the case.
