ELECTRICAL ELECTROMAGNETICS & GPR P7 - 05 AN APPROACH TO INTERPRETATION OF TILT ANGLE VALUES BY USING EDGE DETECTION TECHNIQUES Emre Timur Dokuz Eylul University Department of Geophysics Izmir Turkey Summary In this study basic definitions of image processing applications of image processing in geophysics edge detection techniques are investigated and pratices were carried out on some regular images and electromagnetic tilt angle maps. Quantitative interpretation of VLF tilt angle values is performed by utilizing Fraser Karous&Hjelt filters. The operation of Fraser filter is the result of the application of a difference operator to transform zero-crossings into peaks and a
