Software-defined networking (SDN) is an emit model for design and management of network. The main difference is the decoupling of control plane from a data plane, which gives programmability, flexibility, for network configuration and simplify the management of network. SDN provides administrator of the network, the potential to configure and maintain network services from a centralized location. The problem of placement of the controller deals with the controllers number required and their placement in the network to conserve the configuration of the network. The resilient placement of controller deals with the affair of either a failure of node or failure of the link. In this paper, we suggested a meta-heuristic hybrid particle swarm optimization and simulated annealing(HPSOSA) algorithm for resilient placement of the controller to minimize the average latency. We execute our results on different networks present in Topology Zoo. Execution results authenticate that our suggested algorithm evaluate better than the other algorithms.
