In this paper is presented the design and the implementation of a communication module that is based on the highly efficient direct sequence spread spectrum transmission technique (DSSS). The proposed system is intended for applications in the field of distributed wireless sensor networks used for remote monitoring of physical quantities in multipoint locations placed on large geographical areas. The implementation solution of the module ensures high noise rejection and elevated data transmission speed under conditions of good spectral efficiency. Also, the architecture of the system is compatible with the code division multiple access technique allowing simultaneously transmission of signals from multiple sources without significant performance degradation.
