Reverse engineering, where we generate CAD data from real objects, is contributing for maintaining and improving the quality of products. Therefore, reverse engineering is necessary for manufacturing industry. However, since CAD data has a variety of shapes including filets, it is still difficult to generate robust and versatile CAD data from real objects. In this study, we propose a novel method for extracting regions including two key factors. 1) We calculate gradient of curvature from X-ray CT sinogram directly. 2) We conduct semi-automatic segmentation using Morse Theory. Our method enables us to extract regions better and this leads to obtain more robust and versatile CAD data.
