Spectrum Sensing and Dynamic Spectrum Allocation for Cognitive Radio Network
Pallavi Shetkar, Sushil B. Ronghe · 2018
Cognitive Radio is the best solution for the problem of Spectrum Scarcity. Cognitive Radio System senses unused frequencies intelligently without interrupting the users with authority, i.e., Primary Users. This paperwork is divided into three sections, viz., spectrum sensing using energy detection method, dynamic spectrum allocation and fairness optimization among secondary users using Genetic Algorithm. The selection method, mutation, and crossover operators are well chosen in order to improve overall channel allocation and bandwidth utilization. The objective of spectrum sensing and spectrum allocation followed by their implementation on hardware platform i.e. Universal Software Radio Peripheral (USRP) is achieved.
