Is it magic or science to tell a student that E = mc? . . . While each definition tells us how to use energy, none of them tell us what it is. Energy is expressed only in terms of other abstractions, and yet we know it exists, that energy, the magically convertible phenomenon behind all phenomena, is REAL.
