In this paper, we deal with hierarchical clustering for interval-valued data. Interval-valued data is typical of symbolic data. We propose hierarchical clustering for interval-valued using Width of Range Euclidean Distance, and apply this methods to real data. Different combinations of representative interval-valued distance measures and linkage methods are best for clusters of particular shapes. Each of these linkage algorithms can yield totally different results when used on the same dataset, as each has its specic properties.
