Research on the Image Segmentation Based on Improved Threshold Extractions

Image segmentation is one of the classic methods of image signal processing. It is widely used in the industrial inspection, public security, judicial, and so on. Image segmentation using area has a special meaning to distinguish the different areas, and each area has consistency to ensure that each area is the intersection of each other. Based on the threshold and region extraction as the foothold, this paper introduces three typical image segmentation method based on threshold (iterative method global threshold segmentation, Otsu method global threshold segmentation, local threshold segmentation), and comparison of results by using computer simulation show the different of these three methods.
