ProveDoc: A Blockchain Based Proof of Existence with Proof of Storage

In the digital world, document management is transitioning from piling up physical documents to electronic documents for efficient way of managing the information towards increasing the productivity. A number of digital artefacts such as educational certificates, Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), driver's licenses, health records, employee service records, audit reports, sale deeds, movable & immovable property records, birth & death certificates, tax returns and so on are generated by ICT systems. Usually these documents are associated with important aspects such as temporal existence, origin / owner & specific content. These all play an important role in identifying ownership of particular asset, parties involved in transactions, MoU content & date of signing etc. Present day document management systems lack transparency, security, central storage and efficiency. This is resulting in fraudsters fabricating fake documents beyond recognition. This problem can be solved only when the documents are stored in tamperproof manner and there is a mechanism for verifying the temporal existence of the document, origin & integrity of the document. C-DAC proposes Blockchain based ProveDoc solution to address this problem.
