RamGen: Moving Memories from Physical to the Logical Domain

Jeff Scott, Jonathan Sadowsky, Jigar Kuverji Savla · 2019

We present RamGen, our flow to automate front end memory generation in an SRAM vendor agnostic fashion. RamGen is part of an ecosystem which allows rapid prototyping of SRAM memories in any custom silicon (ASICs / GPUs / CPUs) workflows. It allows changes in specifications (size, timing, routing, vendor constraints) to be accounted for, without impacting front-end design and verification workflows. Enables designs with high-level memory specifications to be portable across several fabrication nodes and vendors.
