A Dual-Channel Digital Low Dropout Regulator with Time-Division-Multiplexing Scheme
Kaixuan Ye, Min Tan · 2019
A novel digital low dropout regulator (DLDO) that can simultaneously regulate two output channels with a shared controller is proposed in this paper. The time-division-multiplexing (TDM) scheme has been applied to the shared controller of this TDM DLDO and the total chip area is significantly reduced. Implemented in 130 nm CMOS process, the proposed TDM DLDO shows undershoot voltages of 68 mV and 85 mV at two output channels and only occupies a total chip area of 0.041 mm2, which is 40% less than the chip area of two independent DLDOs.
