A study on unknown protocol security

Numerous studies are being conducted on the unknown protocol inference, which is based on inferences about various protocols that emerged with the IoT. However, the unknown protocol used only within a specific company can't be easily researched due to the security of the data itself. In addition, since it is a protocol developed by itself to protect information in a company, it's not easy to find the specification of the protocol or the existence and characteristics of rules of the protocol as an inference method of the general protocol. Therefore, it is hard to verify the safety of the protocol. In this study, we conducted an experiment to determine whether if such a protocol could not be inferred and if possible, provide adequate safety. Using the protocol automatic analyzers Netzob and Needleman-Wunsch Algorithm, simple strings were separated according to the rules, and protocol inference could be made through separate experimental procedures according to the structural features of each protocol.
