Nowadays with the tremendous growth of wireless technology, spectrum resources become more and more scare. For. For improving the capacity of the network and, QoS (quality of service) it is necessary that available spectrum is utilized effectively. Cognitive radio is one of the solutions to meet this requirement by Spectrum reuse (Dynamic spectrum access). There are three distinct phase in cognitive radio networks (CRNs) that is spectrum sensing, channel selection, and data transmission. Channel selection is a most important issue in CRNs. In CRN the major task is which channels should be selected first and how many resources are used. Channel selection is basic mechanisms that control interference in a wireless network. As soon as licensed user came back, it vacant the band and hence improve spectrum efficiency. In this paper, channel and corresponding rate selection techniques are discussed. The goal is to find an average throughput for a different strategy which described in section IV. Also, find the successful transmission probability for selected channel and rate pair. For this optimization based MAB (Multi-arm bandit) approach is used.
