The number of Intellectual Property (IP) modules in a System-on-Chip (SoC) is increasing rapidly. As the number of IP modules on a chip increases, the complexity in the communication between them also increases and the advanced applications requiring large bandwidths and scalability has led to the emergence of Network-on-Chips (NoCs). NoCs provide scalability and efficient communication between large number of IPs and so the components of NoCs are prone to faults. This requires the need for fault-tolerant NoCs. This paper proposes an algorithm for routing the packets in case of a link fault in Mesh-of-Tree (MoT) topology. The algorithm will ensure that the packets will reach the destination in the shortest possible path. We also compare the results obtained with that of the deterministic routing approach.
