In the maritime environment, bearings-only tracking (BOT) has been holding the attention of researchers for many decades. The purpose of BOT is to estimate the kinematics of the target which is often cited as Target Motion Analysis (TMA). The highly nonlinear nature of the BOT problem requires the use of Bayesian framework algorithms for state estimation. Monte Carlo simulation for the performance evaluation of these algorithms based on the angle on target bow (ATB) is carried out in this paper using Matlab. The scenarios are also designed mathematically to analyse the algorithms using simulator before applying them in real time.
