Rank of a website plays a major role in determining the performance and usability in a search engine. Therefore, it becomes essential to consider the rank as the most important factor in order to measure and enhance the performance of websites. In this paper, different ways of calculating the ranks of websites using parameters such as performance, mobile- friendliness, search engine optimization, security and CPR value are discussed. Ten educational websites of the Gujarat region have also been evaluated in this study and a set of recommendations are presented to increase the performance of websites. It is believed that this work would benefit the web-developers and consumers to a greater extent possible.
