Route Prediction is a principle requirement for many transport system services like route prediction in grid computing, traffic congestion estimation, VANETs, travel recommendations and so on. The literature emphasizes on how to establish an optimal end-to-end scalable route prediction application using various techniques like Hidden Markov Model (HMM) approach for map matching, closest match prediction algorithm, probabilistic generalized suffix tree (PGST) and distributed context tree weighing (DCTW). This paper implements how to efficiently use Map-Reduce framework in mentioned route prediction techniques.
