With increase in the amount of data generated every day, there is a need for more storage space in our mobile phones. Users have to manage their storage space by frequently transferring data to other devices such as desktops/laptops or uploading the data to cloud storage. This transfer of data is manual and very tedious for users. Existing systems such as IPFS and Filecoin aim to solve this problem by using Blockchain which requires high processing power available only in static nodes such as desktops/laptops. Cloud storage is flexible with mobile phones but requires continuous internet connection. There is always a risk of data theft as the data is stored as a centralized repository. Moreover, the cloud service provider also has censorship over user's data. Nowadays, mobile phones provide huge amount of built-in storage in many variants such as 128GB and 256GB. Mostly this storage space remains redundant in user's phones. Hence, the authors propose a Distributed Storage system which would eliminate security concerns of centralized system and facilitate offline transfer of data using P2P network. The proposed system will use existing storage space available in other user's mobile phones. A person can store his/her data in these available spaces in different user's phones in encrypted form using various scrambling algorithms. Rewards will be given according to storage space sponsored by users.
