Adaptive Gabor algorithm for face posture and its application in blink detection

Gabor algorithm has been widely applied to the face image processing, especially in light interference. However, the conventional Gabor algorithm can not be applied well because of the limitation of the scale and direction of face images with different poses. In this paper, an adaptive Gabor algorithm for face posture is proposed, which adjusts the scale and direction of Gabor filter by judging the face posture, so as to speed up the extraction time of eye features. Taking blink detection as an example, the accuracy of EAR can be improved by 26%.
