Perform Task/Step Breakdown

Mike Burke · 2020

In some cases it may be appropriate to break each task down into its steps. These steps are also known as physical demands. The physical demands have been defined by the dictionary of occupational titles. In most cases this is not necessary. The instances where this may be appropriate would be if the worker performs a single task for all or most of his time. Assembly-line operators, inspectors, or packers may fall into this category. Initially, the task must be in focus. Each body part needs to be observed as it goes through the activity. The list of physical demands can be referred to; any occurrence of them can be made a note of. The various physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
