A Visual programming language called ArViz is proposed in this work. ArViz is an extension of Ardublockly and senseBox Blockly, which are based on Google Blockly. ArViz is designed as a visual programming tool using blocks for coaching beginners on the Internet of Things (IoT) development concept. Once the blocks are placed on the programming workspace, ArViz automatically translates blocks into corresponding Arduino compatible C/C++ code. ArViz also provides more connectivity type blocks such as WiFi blocks, MQTT protocol related blocks, along with sensor and actuator related blocks, in order to support IoT applications. ArViz aims to reduce the complexity of IoT programming by using a drag-and-drop coding style instead of a traditional coding style making an IoT coding easier and fun.
