Semantic Internet of Things Platforms-Examples of Two Different Approaches for Cloud Environment

This paper covers the semantic enabled Internet of Things (IoT) platforms, which include the author's previous research work as well as his future research directions. First, the extension of non-semantic IoT platforms based on publish-subscribe connectivity protocols is proposed to enable semantic interoperability. Second, a semantic IoT platform based on RDF triple store optimized for semantic sensor streams is presented, and its potential improvement using the latest achievements in data management is discussed.
