Ratio Delay Studies
Marijn Mulders · 2019
The objective of the Ratio Delay Studies (RDS) is finding those activities or actions where time can be saved or unnecessary time is wasted. RDS is a collection of snapshots of the activities of a group of people and/or machines over a certain period. These observations also have the objective of determining the percentage share of a certain activity. It is important that it is explained what the objective of carrying out the RDS is, what will happen and who will perform it. The result of the RDS is insight into the activities or actions in the business process where time can be saved or where too much time is wasted. Furthermore, the RDS lends itself well to tracing bottlenecks in the business process. Personnel on the work floor should be involved in the RDS and receive an explanation of the objectives.
