A model that is expected to be an integral part of the future generation of wireless sensor networks to improve connectivity, reliability, network capacity, and overall network lifetime in an Opportunistic Internet of Things. In wireless sensor network, information sharing is done by sensing technology and short range communications. In such system a major challenge is to design a routing protocol for OppIoT, due to dispute of connection between nodes and packet forwarder node or intermediate node. Considering OppIoT is a super class of OppNet and keeping in mind IoT scenario and opportunistic use of devices for both case i.e. device presence is variable or fixed. In this paper, we will compare 6 routing protocol schemes (LPFR-MC, GT-ACR, HBPR, Epidemic, PRoPHET, PRoWait) with parameter probability for message delivery, hop count, i.e. number of intermediate nodes between sender and receiver, the number of messages dropped, i.e. number of messages lost during transmission, message overhead ratio, and average buffer time for OppNet that can be used in IoT environment and make a conclusion that (about) which protocol perform best.
