Although one-piece conveyance is the ideal state of this system, many processes have great di®culty in achieving such a goal. An example of this occurs in the pressing process of automobile manufacturing. In such lot production processes, even though a triangular kanban or signal kanban is used, a continuous improvement e£ort must be made to ensure that the lot size is minimized.
