Esam Aloufi, Ibrahim Alrashdi, Mohamed Ali Zohdy · 2018
The architecture of the Internet of Things (IoT) was estimated to grow into a vertical design. However, it had some issues in continuance due to the massive number of applications that will be associated with IoT in the future. In recent researches, the horizontal design was discovered based on Software Defined Networks architecture (SDN), which can handle the vast applications of IoT. This paper aims to provide a brief description of IoT and SDN. Then, highlights the security challenges of IoT. Thereafter, it points out the IoT architecture based SDN. In addition, this paper demonstrates the SDN security solution for IoT architecture and summarizes its limitations.
