Polar Coded Superposition Modulation
Xueying Wang, Zhisong Bie · 2019
A scheme for polar coded superposition modulation is proposed. In Gaussian channels, no active shaping is required in this scheme, compared with multi-level coded modulation and bit interleaved coded modulation. Co-optimization of polar coding and modulation can increase bandwidth efficiency while improving transmission reliability. Furthermore, we discuss the optimal power allocation between layers. At the receiver, we present a combined demodulation and decoding algorithm which can fully utilize the received information. The simulations demonstrate that with the help of the demodulation-decoding algorithm and the CRC, the BER performance is improved.
