Research on Fault Attack of SMS4 Block Cipher

The fault attack is a serious threat to the security of the cryptography because it can be actively planned by the attacker. Many fault attacks of the SMS4 block cipher have been released. In these methods, fault injection is between the 28th round input and the 32nd round of the algorithm, and the round-key of the last round can be successfully recovered. In this paper, a new differential fault analysis (DFA) of the SMS4 block cipher is proposed. Injecting a single-bit fault in the 27th round of the SMS4 can be used to recover the round-key rk31of the last round.
